42 is looking for a data engineer in SF

After graduating from YC (W14), we've been quietly building the most loved tool in retail. Today, our analytics stack is used and relied on by some of the most innovative brands in fashion like AllSaints, Global Brands Group and Rebecca Minkoff.

Our dashboard helps CEOs, Sales Associates, and everyone in-between, to get the answers they need to do their work.

As a data engineer at 42, and you'll be working closely with the sales team to onboard new customers. As a member of the dev team, you'll also be working on our core product, data model, query engine and integration framework.

You should have at least 2 years of professional experience as an engineer. You should also have expert-level knowledge of Python, SQL, Spark (or any other data processing tool). Bonus points if you're familiar with Node.js / JavaScript, since that's what we use for our services. Experience with retail data is also a plus.

Your responsibilities will include

+ Leveraging our data processing infrastructure to build integrations with customer's systems, as well as third party datasets and APIs.

+ Improving our Spark pipeline, core data model and query engine.

+ Working closely with customers to get feedback, gather requirements, give training sessions, and generally delight them with the cool stuff you'll release.
