Ask HN: Is there a tl;dr service for videos/podcasts?
I've always wondered if there is service that automatically takes the bits that take the most important bits from a long form audio or video and summarizes it down to a few minutes. If this service existed it would mean time saving for a big portion of watch time of any long video leading to hundreds of saved watch hours per year. I wonder how this can be done with different approaches including machine learning or just manual crowdsourced heuristics. It would be similar to TLDR This [0], but for more than just text. In fact I wonder what would happen if one ran the transcripts from a video through that site.
