There's a well-known correlation between psychopathic tendencies and holding a CEO position. I would assume that also applies to politicians, to some degree. The thing is that usually these people are good at thinking holistically and long-term which, even when totally driven by self-interest, can result in somewhat more "moral" actions (especially if appearing to be moral or trustworthy is useful to their own interests).

Trump simply has none of that foresight or self-control. That's the only difference. We needn't continue being surprised by his behavior.

I can’t tell if this is a criticism or an endorsement of Trump. The metaphors and quotes can be taken either way.

Non-stop “so and so is a psychopath” blog ramblings do not move things forward in any way. You don’t like the guy, he does awful shit. Labelling him anything and trying to beat a dead horse with it is just some arm chair bullshit.

People like the rough qualities of trump, they like that he can say shit and get away with it. It signals to them that he is a person with real power. And he is. And this just drives a group of people up the wall.

I’d like to see one politician out there, one successful business person, that doesn’t lie, cheat, steal, gamble, evaluate risk of being exposed every day, guile enemies into showing their hand too early, and a host of other shit that trump does that everyone harps on him for.

You’re not at his level. You don’t even know the games the politicians are playing against each other because you think all of this is directed at you, meanwhile they’re jousting among themselves for who can get away with shit.

He just has fun doing it. It’s the showmanship and gusto that people like. “Bet you didn’t see this coming” and “try to stop me” are his attitudes. Look at the way he looked at his opponents during the election. A lion circling his prey.
